1000/500lb Club

Think you can lift a total of 1000/500 pounds between 3 different lifts? For the males, squat, bench, and deadlift for the goal of reaching 1000 pound total between the lifts. For the females, squat, bench, and deadlift for the goal of reaching 500 pound total between the lifts. So bench, squat, and deadlift your way to the 1000/500 pound club! Schedule a day during the week of June 4 - 8 to Max Out with a trainer and see if you can reach your goal and be featured on our 1000/500 pound club board in the fitness hallway!

Girls with Muscle

A small group of students will learn how to properly execute free weight lifts and use safety techniques under the guidance of Kristi, Centre Personal Trainer.  The goal of Girls with Muscle is to develop physical fitness in order to prepare girls to be safe in sports and life.  All ability levels are welcome, from those active in sports to those with no previous physical background.  Recommended that participants bring water bottle and tennis shoes.
 
Good mechanics translates to physical literacy, enhanced sports performance, and fewer sport injuries.

Fastest to 500!

How fast can you row? This fitness center challenge features the row machine. Get on and see how fast you can row 500 meters. Try as many times as you want throughout the month and see if you can get your name on top of the leader board.

Fitness in the Park

Fitness in the Park is a free outdoor exercise program that brings a variety of fitness activities to New Richmond City Parks. Pick a class you like and show up! Community Participants will be required to fill out a registration form. Follow us on Facebook and our website for updates. Bring a bottle of water, a yoga mat, and a lot of energy!

Yoga
An intro class to light stretching and flexibility enhancing movements. All levels will find benefit – beginners have time to absorb the elements of a new practice, and the more advanced have time to go deeper into their practice. Bring a yoga mat if you have one.

Cardio Kickboxing
Practice your boxing punches and martial arts kicks to an aerobic pace. This class will get your heart pumping and your mind working with fun and effective moves.

Family Boot Camp
This is the perfect physical activity for all ages and fitness levels. Bring your kids, co-workers, and friends! The workout consists of sports drills, light weights, jump rope, circuits, and interval training.

Mixed Martial Arts
This high-energy, non-contact workout incorporates moves from Kyuki-Do and mixed martial arts. Learn coordination and self control through basic kicking, blocking, and striking techniques.

Train Tough Outdoors 

Engage in various exercises with a small group outdoors including cardio, calisthenics, and weight training to tone and firm your body. Using your body weight and natural elements, you will get a full-body workout that will change your life. This class is open to all fitness levels, keep in mind that this is not an easy class and that the goal of the instructor is to get you into shape. Dress for the weather.

Women Who Lift 

Feel intimidated or confused in the weight area? This progressive weight training program is tailored for beginners. Learn the basics of the machines and the free weight area and how to progress your program. Build muscle and self-confidence at the same time in a small group setting.

Fit 4 Mom

Feel great at every stage of the pregnancy! This 6 week workout program is designed to strengthen the body for all the changes it will experience during pregnancy and lose the post-baby weight. Classes will include a full body workout and a brief discussion about how you can learn to stay strong and fit around motherhood. Class will incorporate free weights, stretching, power walking, and outdoor training.

Lazyman Triathlon

This personal challenge will push you to complete an entire Ironman Triathlon (swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles, and run 26.2 miles) over the course of a month. Using a variety of fitness equipment, group fitness classes, or even spending time outdoors you will complete a full triathlon! Grab some friends and make it a competition!

Fitness Family Hikes

Explore the local trail system with a 60 minute guided fitness hike starting at the Centre. Hikes will include a warm-up, stretching and fitness challenges along the way, with each hike a different fitness theme. Trail routes are a mix of gravel, grass, and paved, depending on conditions with light to moderately steep terrain areas. Dress for the weather and hiking activity; a water bottle is recommended. If there is light rain, the programs will go on as scheduled.

Million Calorie Burn

The Centre, in partnership with Westfields Hospital, Edward Jones, and the New Richmond Pathways Committee, is bringing you the 2nd Annual Million Calorie Burn. Track the calories you burn during physical activity to help benefit New Richmond trails.
