Fitness in the Park

Fitness in the Park is a free outdoor exercise program that brings a variety of fitness activities to New Richmond City Parks. Pick a class you like and show up! Community Participants will be required to fill out a registration form. Follow us on Facebook and our website for updates. Bring a bottle of water, a yoga mat, and a lot of energy!

Family Boot Camp Thursday, July 19

This is the perfect physical activity for all ages and fitness levels. Bring your kids, co-workers, and friends! The workout consists of sports drills, light weights, jump rope, circuits, and interval training.

Mixed Martial Arts Thursday, July 26

This high-energy, non-contact workout incorporates moves from Kyuki-Do and mixed martial arts. Learn coordination and self control through basic kicking, blocking, and striking techniques.



Fit 4 Mom

Feel great at every stage of the pregnancy! This 6 week workout program is designed to strengthen the body for all the changes it will experience during pregnancy and lose the post-baby weight. Classes will include a full body workout and a brief discussion about how you can learn to stay strong and fit around motherhood. Class will incorporate free weights, stretching, power walking, and outdoor training.

Lazyman Triathlon

This personal challenge will push you to complete an entire Ironman Triathlon (swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles, and run 26.2 miles) over the course of a month. Using a variety of fitness equipment, group fitness classes, or even spending time outdoors you will complete a full triathlon! Grab some friends and make it a competition!

Fitness Family Hikes

Explore the local trail system with a 60 minute guided fitness hike starting at the Centre. Hikes will include a warm-up, stretching and fitness challenges along the way, with each hike a different fitness theme. Trail routes are a mix of gravel, grass, and paved, depending on conditions with light to moderately steep terrain areas. Dress for the weather and hiking activity; a water bottle is recommended. If there is light rain, the programs will go on as scheduled.

Million Calorie Burn

The Centre, in partnership with Westfields Hospital, Edward Jones, and the New Richmond Pathways Committee, is bringing you the 2nd Annual Million Calorie Burn. Track the calories you burn during physical activity to help benefit New Richmond trails.

1000/500lb Club

Think you can lift a total of 1000 pounds between 3 different lifts? We will add together your total weight from all 3 lifts. For the males, squat, bench, and deadlift for the goal of reaching 1000 pounds total between the lifts. For the females, squat, bench, and deadlift for the goal of reaching 500 pounds total between the lifts. So bench, squat, and deadlift your way to the 1000/500lb Club! Schedule a day during the week to Max Out with a trainer and see if you can reach your goal and be featured on our 1000/500lb Club board in the fitness hallway! Get a FREE T-shirt if you make it into the club!

Growing Stronger Seniors Small Group Training

Work with a personal trainer in a small class setting to maximize the benefits of strength training. You will learn about sets, reps, tempo, and the proper amount of weight you should be lifting. Each week presents a new challenge as you learn proper form and exercises for major muscles groups of the body. As the session progresses, you will review the prior week’s exercises to build your confidence.

How fast can you row? This fitness center challenge features the row machine. Get on and see how fast you can row 500 meters. Try as many times as you want throughout the month and see if you can get your name on top of the leader board.

Strength & Interval Small Group Training

Are you looking for a jumpstart to your fitness program? Need some motivation? Could you use a little push and some friendly encouragement? Strength and Interval Training is a six week fitness program that offers work out instruction and tons of motivation. The workouts vary, making your experience fun and inspiring. Personal Training Manager, Kristi Syring, will lead you through challenging yet exciting workouts at your own pace. Activities such as resistance bands, strength training, circuit training, Kettlebells, sport drills, and more will keep you challenged. Leave with a strength and interval plan to keep progressing with.

Centre Weightlosers Small Group Training

This six week program meets two times a week with Personal Training Manager, Kristi Syring. Kristi will modify exercises for all fitness levels, focusing on strength and cardio training and a gym circuit for 50 minutes. Class will also focus on fitness, nutrition, and other lifestyle changes with peers who are determined to achieve the same goal: long term weight loss! The October 19 class will be held at Family Fresh with the “Shop Like a Personal Trainer” class. Complete NEW weekly challenges for your chance to win the overall prize package based on participation points.
