Stairs to Nowhere Challenge

Every year, runners race each other up the 1,576 steps (86 flights) of the Empire State Building. The course records are 9 minutes and 33 seconds for the men, set by Australian Paul Crake in 2003, and 11 minutes and 23 seconds for the women, set by Austrian Andrea Mayr in 2006. In the month of July, try to climb as many floors as you can, and maybe even test your fitness against the records!

Lazyman Triathlon

This personal challenge will push you to complete an entire Ironman triathlon (swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles, and run 26.2 miles) over the course of a month. Using a variety of fitness equipment, group fitness classes, or even spending time outdoors you will complete a full triathlon. Grab some friends and make it a competition!

Fitness in the Parks

Fitness in the Parks is a free outdoor exercise program that brings a variety of fitness activities to many of New Richmond parks. Pick a class you like and show up! No registration required and classes are open to all community members. Community participants will be required to fill out a day pass. Follow us on Facebook and our webpage for updates and cancellations. Bring a bottle of water and a lot of energy!

Cardio Circuit
This class combines high intensity cardio and strength training workout set up in stations. This challenging circuit of exercises, timed in specific intervals is guaranteed to give you a total body workout.

Yoga In the Park
An intro class to light stretching flexibility enhancing movements. All levels will find benefit – beginners have time to absorb the elements of a new practice, and the more advanced have time to go deeper into your practice. Bring a yoga mat if you have one.

WERQ Dance in the Park
WERQ Dance is the wildly addictive cardio dance class based on the hottest pop and hip hop music. The workout is nonstop with repetitive athletic moves and fresh dance steps, so you get the best sweat.

Train Tough Outdoors

Get motivated for your next Tough Mudder, Spartan, or obstacle race with an outdoor fitness boot camp style class. This group session focuses on military-style exercises and functional movements like burpees, farmers walks, sprints, bear crawls, and barbell training that will provide you with a killer workout and a chance to sweat outside the gym.

Women Who Lift

Feel intimidated or confused in the weight area? This progressive weight training program is tailored for women only. Learn the basics of the machines and the free weight area and how to progress your program. Build muscle and self-confidence at the same time in a small group setting.

Time: 5:45 am – 6:45 am OR 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Cost: $65.00 for Centre Members
